I want to share with you a brief note about Spoonflower and Zazzle… and an entire month dedicated to sin and abomination.
Last year, when Spoonflower went all out for sin and perversion for the month of June, I filed a complaint.
I told them in no uncertain terms that they were hurting MY BUSINESS as well as their own, and that it was wrong and I was looking to jump ship.
We went around about this a bit. They didn’t want to hear it from me for obvious reasons, but–I must not have been the only person who complained or who told them in no uncertain terms how counterproductive their choices were. I actually walked away from posting and sharing anything from them for the entire month and was pretty cool toward the platform for months afterward, and I suspect that other designers (and many of their customers) were too.
They must have felt the pinch because this year, I am just not seeing ANYTHING from them celebrating these objectionable things. Not in my inbox and not on their front page. I even tried checking the website via an incognito window and–I’m seeing their Wedding Linens challenge, and their Fruit challenge instead.
Here’s the link to Spoonflower’s home page so you can check it out for yourself.
Here’s the link to their contact form so you can thank them for making a better choice.
Sadly, Zazzle has embraced the darkness while Spoonflower appears to have seen the light.
I am sorry to see Zazzle descend into darkness. I’m shutting down my stores there and I won’t be going back. I’ve felt pretty crummy about using the platform at all for a while now, so I’ve been deleting artwork and not posting new. I just haven’t been able to find enthusiasm to be over there.
I know they won’t listen if I complain. Designers have gotten together and complained–QUITE LOUDLY–about other issues where we had God, truth, and justice on our side, and they were clearly in the wrong, and–Zazzle’s leadership stubbornly refused to hear a word we said! They even censored us in the forum.
But…in the hope that offended customers can make them change their minds like Spoonflower did, here’s a link to Zazzle’s customer service page.
Let them know your honest thoughts. Tell them how you see what they’re doing (but keep it as polite as possible).
Oh, and if you’re aware of any conservative Christian-owned companies that would be interested in partnering with me to sell my designs, I would love some recommendations. I would have happily switched companies if I’d found another home for my designs before now.
Thanks,
Krysti
