When I originally created Forest Friends Tea Time, I wanted to celebrate childhood and the joy children receive from playing make-believe. I’ve also been a fan of Beatrix Potter for some time, so I wanted the artwork to tell a story with animals having tea. The quirky little houses are where they live, and the brown cobblestone background gives the artwork a warm and civilized feel.

I recommend printing this design on canvas, twill, or quilting cotton. Use for projects that require infrequent washing to preserve the vibrancy of the colors.
But I realized when moving my artwork to Raspberry Creek Fabrics that I needed to find a way to make the backgrounds lighter. These dark rich browns won’t print or wear well on many of the fabrics offered by Raspberry Creek. So, I removed the cobblestone layers and rearranged the elements to create a Forest Friends Tea Time design that works on lighter colorways. Then, I sampled the colors in the design and created lighter tints to use for the backgrounds.
I’m also considering creating a ditsy version of this design. Leave me a message if you’d be interested in having this an option.

I’ve added cute animals to these designs and may add them to a few others eventually as well.
