I’m trying to find ways to donate more money to Hurricane Helene relief efforts, and right away I thought of my six fabric collections celebrating the Smoky Mountains.
Why I am doing this: As you no doubt already know, for some reason our government doesn’t want to help the victims of Hurricane Helene. This is totally unacceptable. They’ve also been trying to interfere in private relief and search and rescue operations. If we don’t all find ways to pitch in, people affected by the hurricane may not survive–and I want to do more. I want to do as much as I can.
But–I don’t have a lot of disposable income. Thanks to inflation, I’m having to count my pennies like just about everyone else.
Creating fun designs on fabric and wallpaper is my side business or hobby. I love the company that I sell my designs through. Raspberry Creek Fabrics is committed to growing an American business and buying from other American businesses. They source their fabric in the U.S. from other American companies. Because they do, these fabrics are high quality and more durable than the ones made overseas. The printing processes used are superior too. I love the vibrancy and clarity of the prints I create on these fabrics. Together, we are creating and selling quality products.
Because I changed companies (I sold more on Spoonflower, but I couldn’t stomach the lifestyles they pushed), I currently don’t make a lot of money from my fabric designs–but I do make some. So, I can afford to send a percentage of the sales of fabrics in my Smoky Mountains collections to Hurricane Helene relief.
From now until Christmas, I will donate 50% of my income from the sales of these fabrics via World Outreach Church.
I’d prefer to donate all of it, but I do need to keep my websites running, and my income from fabric sales still has to cover that commitment.
Why these particular fabric collections? Because the Smoky Mountains were directly affected by Hurricane Helene.
If you don’t need or want to purchase fabric, but you would still like to donate to help those affected by Hurricane Helene, World Outreach Church is taking donations and will make sure that this money gets where it needs to go. I contacted them today to get instructions, and they were very kind and helpful, and got back to me quickly.
To donate online, click on the link, choose Give Now, and select the gift type, then under Fund, select Disaster Relief Fund. Please don’t hesitate to call them at (615) 896-4515 if you need assistance or need to give another way.
Oh–and I asked. World Outreach Church is located outside the area most directly affected. They received a lot of rain, but not much else. They say they’re fine, and are happy to support relief efforts.
